My daughter has finished spinning her colourful batch of roving. After being spun, it needs to be wound onto a swift, dampened, then left to dry, so that the twisted fibre doesn't do crazy things, like unwind and tangle around itself.
We don't have a swift.
This is my daughter's compromise.
She wraps it around her weight bench.
Works quite well, too.
